A young adolescent is at a park enjoying the outdoors. First, I decided on a color palette for the Illustration. Next, I drew a sketch of the scene. I moved that sketch into Adobe Illustrator and used a combination of tools to create the vectors. I then added color to all the elements in the scene. It's midday, so I created shadows that reflect the position of the sun being almost directly above the subject. I also went ahead and added some shadows to elements of the building to create the illusion of a 3-D structure. Finally, I added some grain texture to the monolith, the ground as well as the wall in the foreground.
